“Blessed be the name of The Lord now and forever.” Psalm 113:12
I recently read this verse in my quiet time and one word stuck out to me more than the others; the word was “now”.
It is easy to “Bless the name of the Lord” when things are going well. But, the word “now” implies the moment we’re in. Whatever this moment holds in your life, whatever situation “now” finds you in, you need to bless the name of the Lord.
If you find yourself in a season of prosperity, Bless Him! Uncertainty? Bless Him! Hardship? Bless Him! Change? Bless Him! God is worthy of our worship in all seasons of our lives — He is to be blessed “now and forever”.
I also love how Psalm 113 ends. It gives a picture of the heart of God. In verses 7 and 8 it says, “He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, even the princes of His own people.”
Whatever season you are in, Bless the Lord! No matter what your circumstances are, good or bad, God is worthy and His heart for you and His plans for you are good!
Today, let us remember to “Bless the name of the Lord”.
Feeling blessed,
Steele
