With 2016 coming to a close and 2017 just around the corner, this is the perfect time to reflect on all that God has done in your life this past year. It is also a great time to plan some goals for the upcoming year. Some of those goals might be to read through your Bible or have better quiet times (or a better prayer life)?! It’s always good to know what you’re going to do. I’d love to share some really amazing resources that can help give you that plan for this next year.
THROUGH-THE-BIBLE READING PLANS
If you want to get through the entire Bible in one year, here are a few plans that will only take about 15 minutes a day.
One-Year Reading Plan:
This plan consists of reading a section from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. It provides variety in your daily reading. Download it, print it off and use the reading plan as a bookmark or a checklist.
The One-Year Chronological Bible:
This plan is arranged in the order the events actually occurred. This also has reading every day broken up by selected passages. It is a very interesting way to see how all the events correlate throughout the Bible. Download it, print it off and use the reading plan as a bookmark or a checklist.
The Discipleship Journal Reading Plan:
This plan is very similar to the One-Year Reading Plan in that you read a little bit from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. The difference is that this plan is for five days a week. This gives you some flexibility in your reading throughout the week. Download it, print it off and use the reading plan as a bookmark or a checklist.
SECTIONS OF THE BIBLE
If trying to read the entire Bible seems like too much for you, here is an option that focuses on specific sections of the Bible.
ESV Outreach Bible Plan:
This is only a six-month plan that takes you through the New Testament. Download it, print it off and use the reading plan as a bookmark or a checklist.
Some additional thoughts are to grab a notebook and journal throughout the year. Write down your prayers, verses that are speaking to you from your readings, and how God is teaching you. Then, next year, you can review it. It’s a great way to see how God works in your life!
We have most of these resources listed out on our website on our Resources Page!
