It can be hard to make the time to go to a women’s conference. There are so many demands on our time….places to go, people to see and things to do. Oftentimes, we just want to stay home, rather than try something new. We can struggle with insecurities like, “What if I don’t know anyone?”, “What if I don’t like the speaker?” or “Is it really going to be worth my time?”
I will answer that last question for you….yes, going to a women’s conference is always worth your time. Not because of the cute name tags and catered lunch. It’s because Jesus will be there. He’ll show up in the relationships around you and speak to you — through other women, the worship time and the messages you here.
Our Uniquely Yoked Women’s Conference was powerful and so full of His Truth — His heart for each one of us. Over half of the women attended had never been to a women’s conference at our church before. That’s so exciting because it means women are reaching out to connect with others and hear from Him.
Uniquely Yoked was centered around what it means to live in this world but not be of it. How to be a Christian woman who came come to Jesus when she is weary and tired and He will give her rest.
Morgan Thatcher’s messages were heartfelt, real and honest. She has walked with the Lord a long time. She’s dealt with very real (and difficult) struggles in her marriage and in relationships around her. She shared how as she has sat at His feet daily, in His Word, He has changed her. He has enabled her to become the woman He planned for her to be, amidst the challenges He allowed.
She challenged us to go to Him, to get the strength we need. It starts with a relationship with Him. The place for true and lasting change. She was honest about the worries we all have. Little ones and panic attack sized ones. No matter how we’re wired to handle the stress in our lives, He wants us to cry out to Him; we need to make the choice to lean into Him and then do battle against our flesh.
He also wants us to be content with what He has given us — NOT to compare who we are to anyone else. He has a plan just for you; He wants you to find out who He made you to be. She reminded us that God has people in our lives to help us grow. Sometimes it’s family members and sometimes it’s friends. You will become like those you spend time with so be careful. Choose wisely. He will use your relationships to cause great growth in your life (if you let Him).
The bottom line is that Truth will change you. Time in His Word will change you. Jesus will change you. From those teachings to the breakdown discussion groups to amazing food and a very special atmosphere, the Uniquely Yoked Women’s Conference changed lives. I’d strongly encourage you to watch the videos on-line. Grab a friend and watch them together — ask Jesus to meet you in that time and listen to what He has to say to you.

From Series: "Hebrews - Consider Jesus"
“Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to [God] who appointed Him.” Hebrews 3:1-2a The first century Jewish Christians suffered for their faith. In the face of their persecution, those weary Saints were tempted to abandon Christianity. The author of Hebrews wrote this expansive book to teach them why they should “Consider Jesus.” Two thousand years later, the words and truths in Hebrews are relevant for our lives today. Jesus is superior to anything we can think of. It’s important to remember the preeminence of Christ (and what it means) when we face trials and persecutions. We need to know Him. Hebrews 12:3 says, “Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” Consider Jesus with us as we study the book of Hebrews.
