Hi, Rock Church! I’ve got a question for you, “It’s Sunday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. – do you know where your church service is?”
If you said, “It’s in the sanctuary of The Rock Church building,” you would be wrong!
In an effort to accommodate more people at our Sunday services and have room for plenty of social distancing, The Rock Church pastors have gotten creative. We’ve decided to move our Sunday service to our north lawn!
Additionally, we will have only ONE Sunday morning service (10:00 a.m.) starting on August 2! Our Saturday service will remain the same, meeting at 6:00 p.m. Our livestream will be available as usual.
The north lawn is a great, safer place to have our service. Not only will there be an abundance of space to spread out, but your kids will be able to enjoy the outdoors and our neighbors will see us worshiping God together! What a fantastic outreach opportunity.
Church, we need to get back into the habit of meeting together. It’s just too easy to NOT meet. The Bible tells us clearly that meeting together is a critically important part of the Christian experience. It says in Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
If you or anyone in your home has compromised health issues, please stay home and watch online. But, for the rest of us, let’s not let COVID-19, the devil, your flesh or anything else keep you from engaging with the Church. As you become more comfortable, let’s come back together and worship God! Make the choice to join with your brothers and sisters – your Rock Church Family.
What to Bring
When you come, please bring your own lawn chair (we will provide some chairs if you need them), coffee, water, sunscreen, Bible and maybe an umbrella. Don’t forget your mask for when you’re not able to social distance according to state guidelines. Also, if you haven’t done this already, it would be a good idea to download The Rock Church app. We’ll have the message blanks and song lyrics available there.
Dear Christian brothers and sisters, let’s not get out of the habit of meeting. Join us on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. starting August 2. Remember, when you get out of bed on Sunday morning — don’t just yawn, get out on the lawn! 😉
I love you and look forward to seeing you in person soon,
Bill (on behalf of the pastors)
