I recently had the opportunity to attend the National Worship Leader Conference in Tennessee. Pastor Steele taught a workshop at the conference, so another brother and I decided to tag along to support him! During the week, we had a lot of fun being together. We talked about Jesus and laughed. Furthermore, we met several new friends and had numerous opportunities to tell people, “this is what the Lord has done in our lives.”
Many of the conversations centered around our church and music ministry. However, throughout it all, I was given the opportunity to talk about how God had worked in my life. It reminded me of Psalm 66:16, “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for my soul.”
Indeed, it was quite encouraging to vocalize what God has saved me from, and saved me for. I thought not just about how Jesus changed my dreams and plans for my life, but also that He set me on a new trajectory. I am so thankful to be reminded of what the Lord has done. He is so gracious and kind to me. Truly, He’s doing amazing things in our midst.
Open Your Mouth
When was the last time you stopped to think about your God story? Equally important, when was the last time you shared that story? Christian, I want to encourage you to do just that. Find someone and say, “Look what the Lord has done in my life. Look what He has allowed me to be part of. I’m no longer the person I was.” Tell your family, your neighbor, your co-worker or people at church.
In other words, when we open our mouth to share our story, God uses it. He not only uses it to encourage those who hear, but also encourages the person who shares their story.
Thankful for what Jesus has done,
