“And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.” — Psalm 9:10 (ESV)
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” — Isaiah 30:21 (NIV84)
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” — Proverbs 9:10 (ESV)
I have been profoundly humbled by the Word of God recently. Certainly, in our “faith walks” with Jesus, there will inevitably be times where we are perplexed, if not stumped, by the Word of God. In fact, there will be verses that are difficult to understand, explain and even “systemize.” During these times of “mystery”, I find tremendous comfort in the teachings, promises and work of the Holy Spirit.
Walking in Truth
The verses above are God’s promises to lead us to places of Truth as we seek after Him. Indeed, they are a reminder that He alone is the Author of all knowledge, wisdom and insight. Because of that, we ought to run to Him first when we have questions that arise in our faith.
In truth, as a Good Shepherd, the Lord will eventually lead us to places of rest. As a Good Teacher, He will make clear to us, all mysteries that seem to stump us. He will do this as He sees fit. Our reaction in seasons of doubt, difficulty or questioning, should be a humble request for God to lead us in Truth (1 John 5:6).
If not today, one day you will be stumped in your faith. With this in mind, you can take confidence. During these seasons, at the right time, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Walking with you and humbled by His greatness,
