As I write this, I am waiting to surprise my kids. They don’t know it yet, but we have decided to cancel school today and take them to Lagoon. We can’t wait to see the look on their faces when we say, “Instead of school, we thought it would be fun to go on roller coasters.” The entire week (for my wife and me) has largely revolved around this fun surprise.
There is no special reason for “Lagoon day”. The only reward is to hear their voices laugh with excitement, see their smiling faces and delight their hearts.
Men and women, what is your view of the Lord? Do you think He delights in you any less? Not at all! In fact, His love, plan, path for your life, and His goodness toward you, is higher than you could ever imagine. Look at these verses:
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” — Psalm 37:23
“For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” — Isaiah 55:9
“I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” — Jeremiah 31:3
His Perfect Goodness
Christian, the Lord has HIS PERFECT GOODNESS stored up for you! The strongest displays and emotions of love that we have only PALE to the fierce love God has for us. Indeed, there are times of disappointment in our lives. Certainly, there are times of pain. This is a universal truth because of sin in this world.
However, greater still is God’s personal plan for your life. Stronger is His passion for you. More thrilling than any amusement park are HIS SURPRISES for you!
Christian, do not doubt the radical, personal, passionate, love of God in your life. Do not miss the unexpected treasures He absolutely has for you along the way.
You and I do not know what God has up His sleeve to encourage us. But, I believe that around the corner He has something JUST FOR YOU. Do you and I do any less for the loved ones in our lives? Without a doubt, we can we expect even more from our perfect Savior.
Because of this, look for the Lord to delight you this week. He can’t wait to see the smile on your face and hear your laughter. Speaking of that, it’s time for me to run… I have something up my sleeve for my kiddos.
