Out With The Old, In With The New

Comments Off on Out With The Old, In With The New

Happy New Year! Once again, one year ends while another one takes its place. It’s a never-ending cycle. As I was reading through Revelation, something really stood out to me. When Jesus comes to make all things new, it will be the end of the “out with the old and in with the new” mentality we’ve all known.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” — Revelation 21:1-3

A time is coming when everything will indeed be perfect. God always meant it to be that way. He will actually dwell with us! Christian, are you excited about this? Do you believe it? It is, without question, a promise from God. As Christians, we can, by all means, be sure of what will happen when our earthly lives end. We aren’t supposed to just “hope for the best.” There should be absolutely no question about where we will spend eternity, wondering if we’ve done enough good.

Additionally, we don’t count on our works or righteousness to determine what will happen after we breathe our last breath. We specifically count on the promises of God and the righteousness of Jesus! He made us righteous by His death and resurrection. Unquestionably, that is our assurance.

Our Assurance

God promises us an eternal future with Him. An eternal resting place where He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. It’s also where death and mourning will be no more. A forever future with no more crying or pain. Jesus made us a promise — He said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

You may be a Christian who isn’t 100% confident that you will spend eternity with Him. If so, then I encourage you to take heart in what Jesus has done for you. Maybe you aren’t even sure about what Jesus has done for you? Perhaps you want to know more about the relationship God wants with you? If that’s you, then please email me at billy@trc.life. I would love to share this Good News with you.

The book of Revelation ends with Jesus saying, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen.

Come, Lord Jesus,

Billy
