Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.” Psalm 107:43
Recently, I had the privilege of speaking to our SLC location about the amazing things God has done through The Rock Church in 2015. When we look at our history of just one year, we truly see the faithful love of the Lord.
Here are a few highlights to celebrate God’s faithful love:
In 2015, The Rock Church saw 103 Salvations, celebrated 58 Baptisms, and had an average weekly attendance of 941 people. That’s a lot of changed lives!
In the SLC location alone we also:
- Remodeled the entire building top to bottom (including a brand new sound system and lighting rig)
- Reorganized our leadership structure to emphasize the role of deacon and relational value of Small Group leaders
- Re-emphasized the vision for each ministry along with Mission Statements and instructions
- Initiated Hangout Nights with local food trucks
- Partnered with Local First to have a presence in the city
- Initiated “Summer in the City” where we have been a part of reaching our community through: art festivals, concerts, farmers markets, art displays
- Partnered with the City of South Salt Lake to initiate relationships and friendship with our local government
- Had an Easter outreach where we purchased dinner for all the people who came to church
- Had a Christmas Party
- Released four albums
- Had a Volunteer Appreciation lunch at Publik Coffee Shop
- Added a weekly SG meeting and introduced our monthly CORE gatherings
- Had a CORE Retreat at Big Canyon Ranch with all of our small groups (for two nights)
- Had a neighborhood outreach with Rocktoberfest
These are just SOME of the things God did in 2015! His faithful love is so easy to see!
All of these plans rev me up for 2016. We’ve been praying that God has even more in store for us in this coming year.
C.T. Studd said, “Some wish to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”
Amen! Won’t you please join us in what God is doing?!
Running a rescue shop with you,
Steele
