Well, if the all the candy eggs and pastel colors didn’t already give it away, you should know that Easter is here! Every year, people come to our church to hear the Good News about something extraordinary that happened over 2000 years ago. Easter is when Christians reflect on that moment in time when history was split in two. A time when Jesus Christ went to the cross to be crushed for our sins. He was buried and three days later the tomb was empty. Jesus had risen! In His death, burial, and Resurrection, He has forever conquered all sin and death. This is the truth that has secured the eternity of all Christians forever!
This Easter weekend, our churches will be filled with many people — those who believe as well as others who do not believe. Many of these men and women (those YOU have invited) don’t know the power of the Resurrection. Many of these men and women are our very own friends and family who have not yet trusted in Jesus’ life and death to save them. We are inviting them to come to church with us, in hopes that God will do the miraculous in their lives!
As Christians, we believe that God is going to be at work saving souls and drawing the lost into the grace of His Son! Hebrews says it this way,
“Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.” — Hebrews 7:25 (NLT)
Does this excite you? Are you expectant that God is going to change people’s hearts? I know I am!
Will you take a minute today and do a very simple thing and pray with me? Pray that many will hear the Gospel and be saved! Pray for whoever you have invited (by name), and pray for more
opportunities to step out of your shell (pun intended) to invite more people! Pray that this Easter will be one you remember forever!
He is risen!
