Saved by Grace — a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "take time to meditate on the peace and comfort that come from remembering Jesus called your name? At the same time, He saved"

The Rock Music recently released a new single, “Saved By Grace (Live Acoustic Performance).” Additionally, we released a new live performance on our YouTube channel. It’s certainly a blessing and an honor to participate in these new TRM projects. I invite you to listen to the song on your preferred streaming platform and also watch the new video. Thank you for your support and encouragement with all the new music we have put out this year.

A few weeks ago, I listened to this new live version of the song while running errands. As I reflected on the lyrics, I was overwhelmed by the reality that Jesus saved me by grace. Admittedly, this can be a “simple” phrase commonly thrown out in the Christian community. However, the significance of that truth cannot be understated. As Pastor Steele mentioned before, he wrote the song with our local church in mind. It’s indeed special to think of that when we listen to and read through the lyrics.

With that in mind, I wanted to look at the lyrics of the bridge together. They were incredibly impactful to me as I heard them.

He Washed It All Away

“I felt so dirty, lonely, broken, and ashamed. I felt unworthy, worthless, empty, and afraid. But I met Jesus, my Savior, and He washed it all away when He called my name.”

I listened and sang along. It reminded me of all the emotions that sin and shame can bring. The lonely feelings of condemnation can honestly be crippling. We’ve studied many of these truths in our Romans sermon series

Simply reflecting on God’s nearness and love brought me to tears while driving. Specifically, He promised that I have already been washed white as snow by His blood. He shed it on the Cross for me. In that moment, I could only weep and thank Jesus for His grace.

Christian, how often do you think about how you felt before coming to Christ? Were there feelings of shame, emptiness, and fear? Do you frequently take time to meditate on the peace and comfort that come from remembering Jesus called your name? At the same time, He saved you from sin, death, and hell. Because of this, I encourage you to take some time this week to let God’s saving grace be a fresh reminder to you.

Singing with you,

Caleb
