“God has raised this Jesus; we are all witnesses of this. Therefore, since He has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, He has poured out on you what you both see and hear.” — Acts 2:33
By God’s grace, we finished our mission successfully. The missionaries were blessed and our team has made lasting friendships and memories.
We began the day with some pool time, and then presented a slideshow and song for all the parents. A few of the older kids also shared some of the highlights of their week in Croatia. It was an encouraging time to all be together. The day ended with some more games, and a sunset swim to one of the nearby islands.
Learning how ministry and church differs outside the States has been an amazing reminder of just how big God is. He is the same God, of whom we are “all witnesses,” pouring out His “promised Holy Spirit” regardless of country, culture or place. How reassuring it is to know that we don’t need to become distracted by how we think things should turn out. This week certainly forced us to pivot because of logistics, weather, and culture. But with eyes of faith, we were able to join in what God was already doing – just like these missionaries do every day.
We are humbled to follow His lead, and work eagerly in the presence of our Father.
We made the long trip back on Sunday. Praise God that everyone made it home safe and sound. Thank you for praying for us!
