The Rock Church

Timothy was quite young to have the important job of leading the church; Paul knew he needed to write this very personal and practical letter to help him. He felt it was important to instruct Timothy in some significant truths and how they applied to the church. Paul reminded Timothy about the purpose of the Law, the blessing of Grace, and the Mission of Jesus. We would do well to carefully pay attention to the concepts Paul shares — so that we might be prepared for the battle aimed at our faith.

In this first part of our study of 1Timothy, Paul urges Timothy to stay in Ephesus to deal with false teachers. Many of their false teachings are lies we can still believe today. Paul reminds Timothy of the timely and encouraging truths he (and we) need to stay focused on.
