The Legalists in Paul’s day thought they had the answer to the problem of their sinful nature (flesh) in trying to obey the laws and man-made religious regulations. In today’s lesson, Paul explains that no amount of good works can change a man’s basic sinful nature; no one can be justified by works of the Law. Paul shows us that it is not conforming to the Law outwardly. It is having Christ’s love on the inside that can make the real difference in our lives. We need the Holy Spirit within us to help us bear good fruit and lead the life God has called us to. Today we will look at three ministries of the Holy Spirit that can lead to that kind of life.
From Series: "The Book of Galatians: Salt Lake City"
The Book of Galatians is one of the Apostle Paul’s most impassioned and eloquent letters. It warns Christians about the dangers of both legalism and lawlessness, calling Believers to live in the freedom of a gospel-shaped life. Throughout this book we will encounter the promises, warnings, and gospel declarations that will help us find true liberty in our identity as God’s adopted children. Join us at The Rock Church for a ten-part series at all of our locations. We'll discover the freedom found in the statement, "salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone”.
