As we continue on in our "Jesus Is Better" Series, we will focus on the life of Daniel. This famous prophet from the Old Testament is an example of many godly character qualities. In this teaching, we will look at his strong convictions of humility and his success in a godless, pagan work environment. He also has quite a godly response to injustices in his life. As always, Daniel points us directly to Jesus Christ — who is better.
The stories of the Old Testament can sometimes be unfamiliar to us as Christians. It says in Romans 15:4, "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." But, like this verse in Romans states, they were written to instruct us. Join us as we spend 12 weeks studying through a variety of Old Testament characters. Studying their lives in greater detail will both instruct and challenge us. But, it doesn't stop there. These Old Testament characters don't simply instruct and encourage us. They also point (like a big, old laser beam) to Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate example of what it means to live a life of faith. All of these heroes of the Old Testament are ultimately a version of or a picture of Jesus. Join us as Jesus is Better!
