You Are Free Indeed — a word by Pasto Bill Young from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "the truth will set you free.”). That’s incredible news, Christian. Christ forgave ALL your sins. You are free, indeed."

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

I recently had the privilege of leading a young man to Christ at our citywide “Night of Hope” event. His countenance went from sad, hopeless (and discouraged) to joyful, smiling, and thankful! The transformation happened before my very eyes. He absolutely understood (and believed) that God loved him. Also, he knew Jesus had died for all his sins. God is so good.

The Goodness of God – a word by Pastor Steve McInroy from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "I felt that no matter how disgusted and dejected I was, I needed to show the goodness of the Lord to others — even if I didn’t feel like it."

“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” — 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NLT)

I’ve often shared these verses with people in an effort to help show the “Goodness of God.” Especially when they’ve made a mistake or experienced some sort of mishap and are feeling down. And quite frankly, for many of us, that happens frequently. Without a doubt, this truth is for all of us.

Long Shot – a word by Pastor Billy Johnson from The Rock church in Draper, UT. "I’m convinced that the only reason my long shot happened, is because God was behind it every step of the way."

When my co-worker asked me if I’d be interested in helping him with electrical work for a church remodel, my first thought was that it was a long shot. Why? Because the church was in Hawaii! My co-worker (who is also a Christian) is good friends with the pastor of the Hawaiian church.

  4. First Peter – Realistic Hope

Join us for our study through First Peter: Realistic Hope as we look for Realistic Hope found only in Jesus.

Looking back, 2020 was quite a year: global pandemic, economic recession, empty shelves, earthquakes, persecution and political/racial turmoil. Will things get better? Is there any realistic hope they could?

As we begin a new year, it’s easy to put our hope in things simply having to be better than they have been. We want to believe that. However, hope is only found in one source, Jesus Christ. Not in politicians, vaccines or 2021.
