  1. Blessed By Believers

Blessed By Believers – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "... it gives us support when we are discouraged or in need (Galatians 6:2). Community always provides endless opportunities to “die to ourselves”

Oftentimes we can take the body of Christ for granted. With some, the busyness of life can cause them to miss opportunities to be together. For others, the fear of judgment, admonishment, or conviction can lead Christians to keep others at arm’s length. Honestly, I can get very distracted with ministry life. Because of this, I miss the true beauty and benefit of being in the same room with Believers; I don’t savor the fellowship we share and the Holy Spirit. But, we read in Psalm 133 that we experience a true blessing from God when we lovingly and humbly “do life” with one another.

Through many circumstances, I have recently experienced how much I need to be with others living for God’s Kingdom. Firsthand, I have seen Saints walk in obedience, “encouraging each other daily” (Hebrews 3:13). I have also witnessed discipleship in action as Believers have instructed those in the faith (Romans 15:14). What is more, while walking through family trials, God has allowed me to experience our “burdens being shared” (Galatians 6:2) and “others stepping into our weeping and rejoicing” (Romans 12:5).

    His Good Plan for Believers

Being with other Believers is God’s intention for our Christian walk. Without a doubt, it supplies so much good for us. Being connected with God’s people offers protection and accountability in our struggles (James 5:16). Additionally, it gives us support when we are discouraged or in need (Galatians 6:2). Community always provides endless opportunities to “die to ourselves” by loving and serving our brothers and sisters (John 13:15). Indeed, that is our most remarkable testimony to a lost world that we are followers of Jesus. His truth definitely changes us (John 13:35). Possibly the most freeing thing of all is being connected to other Christians — it surely allows us to be who God made us to be. God has specifically given me my gifts, talents, and passions to be the perfect, complimenting piece to the rest of the body around me (1 Corinthians 12).

I thank God for you, the Church,

    Caleb

  2. Do Not Fear

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10 (NASB)

What an absolutely beautiful promise from our Father!

When my oldest son was just a few years old, my family and I went to Lake Havasu for a boating trip. As we stopped in some coves while riding the boat, I took my son Abel into the water to swim with me. He had always been pretty hesitant when it came to water. After I put on my life jacket, I grabbed a floating swim noodle. Then, I picked up my cautious son (in his life jacket) and gently got into the lake. Abel safely floated in my arms with his head high above the water.

  3. It is Good to be Near God

It is Good to be Near God – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "When gripped by grace, we experience abundant life. And then comes humility, obedience, and worship. Indeed, it is good to be near God."

Our purpose is to live a life of worship. To know and be known by God. We are to walk in His grace and be changed by it. This means understanding who we are in God’s presence — that our life is not ours. When gripped by grace, we experience abundant life. And then comes humility, obedience, and worship. Indeed, it is good to be near God.

A desire to be in God’s presence naturally fuels an authentic life of worship. It’s coming to a place where our hearts say, “God, everything else out there is a mirage. Only in Your presence is there life and fullness of joy.”

  4. Mercy My Sin Never Saw Coming

Mercy My Sin Never Saw Coming – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "It’s mercy from my Personal Savior and Friend. He is the Savior my sin and shame didn’t know was coming. While my guilt wants to keep me..."

The Rock Music has released our new song, “Mercy.” It has been an honor to play a small part in writing and recording this song. Indeed, God has been so kind to our little local church in Draper, Utah (of all places) to allow us to put out so much original music.

I’ve helped release several songs over the past 15 years. This one is unique. From the first time we led worship with this song (April 2022), it has been a particularly special song for our body to sing together.

First and foremost, we write and record music for Jesus to be exalted and, secondly, for our local body. We want the music to be a blessing to the saints who call The Rock Church their home. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake. And, of course, more glory for God.

  5. Trust in Him at All Times

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” — Psalm 62:5-8

I’m not exactly sure what each of you is going through. But I know that, most likely, we are staring something in the face that brings us to a place of needing to trust Jesus. Perhaps in the past weeks (or in the coming weeks), you are wrestling with trusting Jesus.

  6. The Word is a Spectacular Gift

The Word is a Spectacular Gift – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "I can quickly take for granted what a spectacular gift I have in unfettered access to the Bible. I have always had multiple copies"

The Rock Pastors recently visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. (with 50 other leaders from the M28 Alliance). This massive museum was full of enlightening insights about the Word of God. It was a very encouraging couple of days; we saw the incredible impact the Bible has had on our world’s history.

During a museum tour, I heard something that impacted me. Throughout history, countless faithful Christians never held a Bible in their hands. Owning a Bible was not expected or viable for centuries (due to exorbitant cost, the churches’ guarded actions, or a genuine risk). Since the Reformation, the printing press, and tireless work by Bible translators (in the last couple hundred years), access to God’s Word has become commonplace.

  7. Rejoice Always

Rejoice Always – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "No matter what the circumstances, life can be (and is) very hard to rejoice in. But, that is exactly what the Lord calls us to do!"

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV)

It can be so easy to be discouraged. Whether it’s something in our own lives or the world around us, we are surrounded by hard situations and events. Perhaps your health is deteriorating, your job is going poorly, or your marriage is in shambles? Maybe a loved one is struggling? Do you look at the state of our world today and wonder what will happen next? No matter what the circumstances, life can be (and is) very hard to rejoice in. But, that is exactly what the Lord calls us to do!

  8. Jesus is a Promise Keeper

Jesus is a Promise Keeper – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "We can look throughout the Bible and see how God fulfilled His promises and covenants through Jesus. Undeniably, Jesus is a Promise Keeper!"

The Bible is amazing. It’s all one story that points to the New Covenant ushered in by Jesus Christ. From its first pages (with the brokenness and mess of human sin) God had His eyes on His ultimate promise to His people — Jesus. We can look throughout the Bible and see how God fulfilled His promises and covenants through Jesus. Undeniably, Jesus is a Promise Keeper!

  9. We Can Experience God’s Peace

We Can Experience God’s Peace – a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "Paul said we will experience God’s peace. It’s not presented as a “may or may not” scenario. He says you WILL experience God’s peace."

I recently read Philippians 4:6-7 in a devotional. The NLT said it this way, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

As I read this familiar verse, a few key phrases jumped out at me.
