  1. Wait and Pray

Comments Off on Wait and Pray
Wait and Pray — a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "Christian, may we wait in silence before the Lord. May we always rest in His protection when we want to take matters into our own hands. "

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.” — Psalm 62:5-7

Reading through Psalm 62 recently was convicting for me. In particular, verse five stood out to me. In my opinion, our world (myself included) doesn’t like to be silent — especially when something bothers us. We also hop on social media to tell the world our opinion about the news story of the day. Without a doubt, we sure love to make our views heard.

His Mercies Are New Every Morning (and Every Year) — a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "His mercies bring hope. I don’t know how people go through difficult circumstances without the hope of Jesus."

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:21-23

It’s almost hard to believe that another year has come and gone. Every year, I seem more surprised by how quickly the calendar year moves. The new year always feels like a mixed bag of emotions. While January 1 can seem to give the appearance of a clean slate for goals, resolutions, and moving forward, it’s really no different from December 31.

  3. Let it Snow!

Let it Snow! – A word by Pastor Steve McInroy from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "the most sensible thing possible. In the storms of my life, I need to trust the Lord and say to Him, “let it snow."

I have a love/hate relationship with snow. The lovely song that Frank Sinatra made famous, “Let It Snow,” brings a certain whimsical set of emotions. Yes, the snow is beautiful! Yet, my back is aching, and driving is stressful. When pondering the statement “let it snow,” I can’t help but be reminded of the One (and only One) who controls the snow.
