  1. Lord, I Can Rest Now, I’m Known

Lord, I Can Rest Now, I’m Known — a word by Pastor Caleb Yetton from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "Jesus came to make us whole and give us rest. He lived, died, and rose again so we could be fully known and fully loved."

The Rock Music has recently released our new EP, “No One Knows Me Like You.” Writing, recording, and playing music for Jesus and the local church is so gratifying. These songs are some that I am most proud of as a musician. At the same time, serving the Lord in this way humbles me. One common theme of this new music (mainly subconsciously) is finding a home in Jesus. And ultimately, a place where He knows me and I can rest in Him.

  2. Beyond Imagination

In Titus 3:7, the Apostle Paul mentions two things that are so remarkable. In fact, when you read them, it feels almost too good to be true:

“So that being justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:7

I want to consider two truths:

    Truth #1: We are Justified.

    Truth #2:  We are Heirs.

  3. You Are Free Indeed

You Are Free Indeed — a word by Pasto Bill Young from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "the truth will set you free.”). That’s incredible news, Christian. Christ forgave ALL your sins. You are free, indeed."

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

I recently had the privilege of leading a young man to Christ at our citywide “Night of Hope” event. His countenance went from sad, hopeless (and discouraged) to joyful, smiling, and thankful! The transformation happened before my very eyes. He absolutely understood (and believed) that God loved him. Also, he knew Jesus had died for all his sins. God is so good.

  4. Sin Magnet

“The flesh wars against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh.” — Galatians 5:17

Sin Magnet — a word by Pastor Bill Young from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "your “wants” will change. The power of your flesh magnet will undoubtedly decrease as you pursue Him with a fiery passion.

I recently watched a short video on demagnetizing powerful, permanent magnets. One technique heated the magnet to a very high temperature — as high as 1390 degrees! The heat caused the electrons to spin. Then, they realigned within the heart of the metal. As a result, the magnetism of the whole object decreased. Voila!

Furthermore, did you know that our flesh is just like a sin magnet? Sin undeniably draws us. To put it another way, our eyes, hands, feet, thoughts, and words get us into trouble. I’ve counseled in heartbreaking situations with people. They were situations where people were specifically struggling (and losing) the battle with addictions of the flesh. Alcohol, drugs, and porn are very powerful sins. In such cases, people may need a reliable treatment center. The team at Carrara luxury rehab centers ensures that every client receives tailored support, leading to lasting recovery. Offering a comprehensive approach to addiction treatment, Carrara combines luxury with expert care.

  5. Hurting

Hurting – a word by Pastor Billy Johnson from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "If you are hurting, please reach out to someone. You are not alone — you are surrounded by brothers and sisters who love you."

“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.” — John 12:27

These were Jesus’ words before He was betrayed and crucified. If anyone knows about suffering, it’s Jesus. His suffering was foretold in the book of Genesis. In fact, the prophet Isaiah even called Him the “Man of Sorrows”.

  6. One Year (and then some…)

One Year (and then some…) a word by Pastor Bryan D. Edwards from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "Since I gave you part one, I thought I’d give you part two. (Hey, who knows, maybe I’ll write a book one day?)"

I am absolutely blown away by the responses from the first blog I sent out a few weeks ago. I have received so many encouraging emails, texts and phone calls from friends and loved ones about how helpful my thoughts were. Thank you for taking the time to read it. I’ve also received many inquiries about the other thoughts (I’d mentioned I’d written down). Since I gave you part one, I thought I’d give you part two. (Hey, who knows, maybe I’ll write a book one day?)

Here are some more of my thoughts on grief.
