This is the perfect time of year to invite a friend, co-worker, neighbor or family member to church! We’d love to have them join us during our Christmas Series called God With Us. It says in Matthew 1:23, “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him ‘Immanuel’ — which means, God with us.” During this Christmas season, we will reflect on the birth, humanity, divinity, and saving power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Called to Serve
During this series, we have learned that God has placed an incredible weight of responsibility on the Christian leader's shoulders. The leader must not only faithfully nurture and direct the church but also pay careful attention to personal piety. A healthy church depends on healthy leaders; ones whose ministry and personal life reflect the power of God. As we conclude our 1 Timothy Series, the Apostle Paul closes his letter as he opened it. He gives a solemn charge to Timothy in the presence of God. This final exhortation is a clarion call to faithful service. It’s not just a call to leaders, but to every man or woman who claims to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

In this first part of our study of 1Timothy, Paul urges Timothy to stay in Ephesus to deal with false teachers. Many of their false teachings are lies we can still believe today. Paul reminds Timothy of the timely and encouraging truths he (and we) need to stay focused on.
