God With Us Christmas Series at The Rock Church in Draper Utah

This is the perfect time of year to invite a friend, co-worker, neighbor or family member to church! We’d love to have them join us during our Christmas Series called God With Us. It says in Matthew 1:23, “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him ‘Immanuel’ — which means, God with us.” During this Christmas season, we will reflect on the birth, humanity, divinity, and saving power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Why is Christmas Good News?

So, what's the big deal about Christmas? Why is it "Good News”? For some, it’s anything BUT good news. Many incorrectly think Christmas is only about presents, trees and decorations. But, it is so much more! What is it about Christmas that will cause traffic jams, fill churches, pack stores and shut down commerce? It’s all because of one event that took place 2019 years ago in a small, dusty, Middle Eastern village in Palestine. The Bible tells us why it’s Good News: Christmas is about the coming of God into the world. In this message, we will discover three reasons why Christmas certainly is, “Good News”.

From Series: "Good News"

Christmas is the time of year when the world remembers the Good News that is found in Jesus Christ. During the Christmas season, the most read passages of Scripture will be from the story told in Luke 1 & 2. These verses tell of the announcement of a Savior (born of a virgin), of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, the birth of Jesus, the appearance of angels, and the shepherds going to the stable where baby Jesus lay. This Christmas, we’re going to look a little more deeply into this familiar story. In doing so, we will discover that 2,000 years later, the story of Jesus is still GOOD NEWS.
