Session 08: The Flesh: The Lie of Life through Taking
“You deserve a break today”, “Have it your way”, “You have to take care of yourself”. The message of our world is that life is found in getting, and that if all your needs (and wants) can be met you will finally be happy. But Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” The lie of the flesh pervades our culture on every front: consume, acquire, build your own kingdom. We need to see this lie for what it is.
