Warning Signs (Hebrews 3:7-19)

Hebrews - Consider Jesus

We have an incredible life to live on this earth — in response to who God is and what He has done for us. No doubt this world is filled with sin, suffering, and confusion. At times, there is chaos. But, the Lord has called us to enter into His rest. Yes, this means rest eternally. However, He has also invited us to share with Him, to partner with Him, as we journey alongside Him while on the earth. While He has invited us, He has also warned us against having a hard heart (which prevents us from entering the promise of this rest). Join us as we explore how we might encourage our own faith and the faith of those around us.

Hebrews — Consider Jesus

From Series: "Hebrews - Consider Jesus"

“Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to [God] who appointed Him.” Hebrews 3:1-2a The first century Jewish Christians suffered for their faith. In the face of their persecution, those weary Saints were tempted to abandon Christianity. The author of Hebrews wrote this expansive book to teach them why they should “Consider Jesus.” Two thousand years later, the words and truths in Hebrews are relevant for our lives today. Jesus is superior to anything we can think of. It’s important to remember the preeminence of Christ (and what it means) when we face trials and persecutions. We need to know Him. Hebrews 12:3 says, “Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” Consider Jesus with us as we study the book of Hebrews.
