Do Not Be Afraid (John 6: 1-21)

Knowing Jesus: Provo

After defending His equality with God in Chapter Five, Jesus travels to a remote hillside and thousands watch as He miraculously feeds them all from a meager supply of two fish and five loaves of bread. This miracle reveals Jesus as the Ultimate Sustainer of humanity. In the beginning verses of Chapter Six, we see God's provision and power displayed in one of the most reassuring statementsof the entire Bible when Jesus says in verse 6:21b, "It is I; do not be afraid."
