Habakkuk

Jesus is Better SLC

Have you decided to worship God no matter whatis going on in your life? Have you ever said to God, "Even if what I am afraid of what will happen in my life, I will still worship You!”? Have you said, "Even if I lose my money, my family, my spouse…I trust in You?" Habakkuk wrestled with questions like this and even asked, "How could a loving God allow for so much evil in the world?" He also embraced God's sovereignty and will. Towards the end of Habakkuk's letter, he wrote, "Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in YOU Lord, I will be joyful in YOU God my Savior." Let's look at this prophet, his doubt, his faith, his worship, and his God.

From Series: "Jesus is Better SLC"

The stories of the Old Testament can sometimes be unfamiliar to us as Christians. It says in Romans 15:4, "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." But, like this verse in Romans states, they were written to instruct us. Join us as we spend 12 weeks studying through a variety of Old Testament characters. Studying their lives in greater detail will both instruct and challenge us. But, it doesn't stop there. These Old Testament characters don't simply instruct and encourage us. They also point (like a big, old laser beam) to Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate example of what it means to live a life of faith. All of these heroes of the Old Testament are ultimately a version of or a picture of Jesus. Join us as Jesus is Better!
