A Culture Divided

Truth, Love & Culture

Right now, we live everyday of our lives at a boiling point and it affects everything we do. We are faced with hundreds, if not thousands, of pressing cultural issues which call us to respond. We look to many sources to help us navigate difficult subjects and troubling times. We turn to the media, colleges, friends, family, or our government to find answers. This can leave us more confused and divided. We find ourselves passionately engaged in a narrative that can quickly become explosive, divisive, destructive and devastating to the relationships we hold most dear. Discussions range from Gender/Sexual Equality/Homosexuality, The Racial Divide, Climate, Sexism, Abortion/Women’s right to choose, Political Disunity, Gun control, to Immigration. These things can color everything we see, and make their way into our conversations, homes, workplaces and the Church. These subjects, handled well, can bring life, healing, cleansing and usefulness to our daily lives. But, handled without great caution, and great concern, can easily burn us. How are we to act? To speak? How are we to engage with our world? As a Church, how are we to speak with one another? How does Jesus want us to engage with Him on these important cultural conversations? Join us as we kick off this series.

From Series: "Truth, Love & Culture"

Where do you stand on issues like: Gender, Homosexuality, Abortion, the Environment and Politics? More importantly, what does God say? If there was ever a time for Christians to understand and be able to communicate God’s Truth about controversial and polarizing issues, it’s now. More than ever before, Believers must develop convictions based on Biblical Truth. But, it doesn’t stop there. It’s equally important that you’re able (and willing) to communicate these convictions with the love and respect that reflects God’s own heart. Truth, Love & Culture will help you learn how to respond with love — even in the face of controversy. In the process, you’ll discover the power of bringing TLC, not hate, to the core issues at the heart of society today.
