How To Recognize Truth (2 Peter 1:12-21)

English author Samuel Johnson wrote, "People need to be reminded more often that they need to be instructed." The Apostle Peter seems to agree with that quote when he writes that he wants to remind, refresh, and help the church remember how to determine what is true. Truth is a fickle word. Definitions get assigned to it that are contradictory, purely individual, and without any validation. Peter wants his readers to know what is true. He reminds them that truth is both personally familiar and scripturally verifiable. We will discover four keys to knowing what we believe is actually true.

From Series: "God's Way (Draper)"

Peter is one of the most beloved characters in the Bible. Many people can relate to his reckless, passionate, rash, wild and fearless qualities. As we begin this study through Peter’ s first letter to the churches, we will discover that he has a unique ability to encourage believers in faith, obedience and patience. His experiences, and close relationship with Jesus, allow him to direct us in God’s way while offering comfort in suffering, and joy as we hope in Christ.
