Honduras Update #4

When All is Stripped Away

Hello, Rock Church. Thank you for your continued prayers. We continue to enjoy the favor of God and the Honduran people with whom God has surrounded us. When the obligations, cares, and concerns of our busy, hectic lives are taken away, it becomes easy to focus on spreading the gospel! God’s Good News is being preached in Honduras! Please keep a couple (Salvador and Victoria) in your prayers. They are fleeing the horrible situation in Venezuela. The other night, they made it to the Nicaragua/Honduras border but were robbed. They are trying to find a way into the United States. Please pray that God provides them safety, security, discernment, and peace

Update from Becky Lawson

We had another fun and busy day doing clinics and visiting elementary and high schools. My favorite part of the day was being part of the church’s ladies’ night. Jenny did a fantastic teaching on the gospel, and how if someone understands the whole gospel, they should immediately want to surrender to it. After the teaching, we had some breakout groups with a couple of questions to reflect on. One of the questions was, “Who do you need to share the Gospel with?” Gabby- a young church member- and I had similar answers. She talked about how her dad has had a few health scares, and even though he has heard the gospel multiple times, he will not submit his life to it. She talked about how if anyone asks her dad if he believes, he says yes to get the conversation over. This brought me a new conviction and urgency to share the gospel with my dad again. I’ve attempted to share in the past, but he responds with off-handed comments like, “I believe in that stuff.” I’ve realized that I have stopped trying to share truth with him. In addition, he is not in the best of health. This ignited a new urgency in my heart to find a way to share the good news with him in a way he could understand. And, upon hearing it, he would eagerly be ready to surrender to it.
