  1. Happy New Year

Happy New Year – a word by Pastor Steve McInroy from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "No matter how wonderful, challenging, or anguish-filled your days may seem, your new life has already started..."

I don’t know about you, but I’m saying good riddance to Old Man 2022. For me, 2022 is like an old, noisy street. As I close the door on it, I find myself hoping for clarity and quietly looking forward to a new year. Honestly, we made it past 2020, 2021, and 2022 — there must be some consolation prize. For those of us who know Jesus, there is a consolation prize. It’s the same as in all the years of eternity past — 2023 holds all the fulfilled promises in Christ Jesus. This verse is like the Times Square ball drop of verses for us as Christians.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

  2. O Holy Night Christmas Series

"O Holy Night" — A new Christmas sermon series at The Rock Church in Draper, UT. In this three-part Christmas series, we’ll take a closer look at some well-known Christmas hymns and you’ll never sing them the same way again.

“O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining. It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth.”

We sing these beautiful songs every year. But, how many of us take the time to think about the majestic (and powerful) words we’re actually singing? Their rich, theological significance is worth discovering.

  3. “The ___ One” Series

A new, six-week series at The Rock Church in Draper, Utah. We will examine the difference Jesus makes and understand why we can’t live without Him. Without a doubt, He is The One.

What’s the big deal about Jesus anyway? Is He truly The One Christians claim He is? Does Jesus honestly have an impact on our lives today?

We live in a world that has global influencers around every corner. From TikTok stars to political leaders, their imprint is worldwide. Because of that influence (and our society’s significant progress socially, economically, technologically and scientifically) it has become very easy for us to ask, “Does Jesus even matter anymore?” Many people think Jesus seems just, well, a bit… outdated.

Easter 2022 - Join us for our special Easter weekend at The Rock Church in Draper, UT.

Easter is the most significant day in all of Christianity. On that first Easter morning, death was defeated, and eternal life was secured by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join us and hear about the hope and confidence followers of Jesus have because of an empty tomb.

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

    Service Times and Location:

    Our two-week Easter series will be April 9/10 & 16/17 at The Rock Church. (11630 S 700 E Draper, UT 84020) Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., Sundays at 9:30 & 11:15 a.m.

Baptisms on Easter Weekend! (April 16/17)

Baptisms will happen Easter weekend (Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17) and we’re so excited! Why? Because it really is the first step of obedience for a Christian. It’s an outward expression of what has happened in your heart as you’ve accepted Jesus as your personal Savior.

Interested in getting baptized? Contact Pastor Steve McInroy at mac@trc.life. You can pick up a Baptism Packet at the Connections Booth or visit http://www.experiencetherock.com/resources/baptism/). Sign up to get baptized at www.trc.life/baptism. Deadline to register is Sunday, April 10.

  5. Update on the State Legislature’s Decision Regarding the Mask Mandate

    Dear Rock Church,

As you may know, the Utah House has overturned Salt Lake and Summit County mask mandates, effective immediately. The Utah House voted 45-29 (Friday morning) to end the locally-imposed COVID-19 mask mandates in Salt Lake and Summit counties.

Accordingly, we will continue to leave the decision to wear a mask (or not) to your own good judgment. We will have masks available for anyone who would like one.

  6. Update Regarding The Rock’s Mask Policy

The Rock Pastors spent four hours (of heartfelt discussion) regarding our response and responsibility to the Salt Lake County Health Department’s 30-day public health order (order #2022-01) regarding COVID-19 mask mandates.

This is a challenging issue, to say the least. But, this is what the pastors have decided will apply to our Rock Church services:

  7. Announcement for the Weekend of January 8 & 9, 2022

    Dear Rock Church,

We are aware that yesterday, the Salt Lake County Health Department issued a 30-day public health order (order #2022-01) requiring people in Salt Lake County to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status or past COVID-19 infection.

Because of the late notice of this order, The Rock Church will simply encourage – but not require – the wearing of masks this weekend. We will also not enforce mask wearing, but leave this decision to your own good judgment. We will have masks available for anyone who wants one.

  8. Hebrews — Consider Jesus

"Hebrews — Consider Jesus" A study through the book of Hebrews at The Rock Church in Draper, Utah. Jesus is superior to anything we can think of. It’s important to remember the preeminence of Christ (and what it means) when we face trials and persecutions. We need to know Him.

A Study of the Book of Hebrews

“Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, who was faithful to [God] who appointed Him.” Hebrews 3:1-2a

The first century Jewish Christians suffered for their faith. In the face of their persecution, those weary Saints were tempted to abandon Christianity. The author of Hebrews wrote this expansive book to teach them why they should “Consider Jesus.” Two thousand years later, the words and truths in Hebrews are relevant for our lives today.
