Give Thanks, A Word by Pastor Steele Croswhite from The Rock Church in Utah.

“He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me…” — Psalm 50:23 (NIV84)

I really love serving God. I mean it, my heart (through and through) longs to do more for Him. I love serving God’s people; I love playing music for Him, and I love knowing Him more and more. Each day I seek to bring honor to God by serving Him.

Most couples could use some “encouragement” in their marriage. People need practical (and fun) ways they can grow together. And every couple needs a date night out, don’t they? When was your last night away from the dog and kids? If you can’t remember, now is the time to make it happen!

Recidivism, A Word from Pastor Josh Whitney of The Rock Church in Utah

Recidivism is the rate at which a criminal offender returns to prison. One study found that within five years of release, 77% of released prisoners were rearrested. I recently had a conversation with a corrections officer who told me a similar statistic. He estimated the recidivism rate at the place he worked was 90%! The annual cost of incarcerating a prisoner in Utah is nearly $30,000. So, this is a big deal. This corrections officer said that the sad joke as the released prisoners left, was that they would see them again!

Sheep Herding, A Word by Pastor Bill Young of The Rock Church in Utah

“Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas. During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.” — Acts 16:6-10 (NIV84)

    Europe Mission Trip

2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

Thanks be to God, and to all of you, who participated in our Family Game Night fundraiser. The 2017 Italy Mission Team is so blessed by the generosity of The Rock Church saints. The fragrance of Christ permeated the church building on Sunday night, with laughter and joy as people of all ages came together to play games, enjoy amazing snacks, and support the upcoming short term mission trip to Italy. Together, we raised more than $2,100 during the event, that will be go directly to the team – expenses like air travel, lodging and food – will be provided for the team thanks to your generous donations.

Finding Joy, a sermon series at The Rock Church in Utah

We live in a world that constantly offers us ways to achieve happiness by improving our circumstances. Unfortunately, such happiness is always fleeting. It never lasts. In contrast, the Apostle Paul was finding joy in the midst of very difficult circumstances. How was he able to do that? He understood that true joy comes from Gospel-first relationships, goals, desires, and obedience. This ten-week series will emphasize that joy comes from pursuing God wholeheartedly, giving ourselves away, and learning to dwell on all that is good. Join us as we study the Book of Philippians together — where we’re finding joy in the journey.

Eclipse A Word By Pastor Billy Johnson of The Rock Church in Utah

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” — Psalm 19:1

Eclipse glasses? Check. Moon pies? Check. Last week, we all saw something incredible take place. We saw the sun, the moon, and the earth, perfectly align— creating a solar eclipse. Other than destroying the sun, moving the earth, or moving the moon, there was nothing that was going to stop the eclipse from happening. I read that “According to NASA, experiencing a total solar eclipse where you live happens about once in 375 years.” So, no matter how hard we try, or how hard we want it to happen, there is nothing we can do to align the sun, moon and earth to force an eclipse.
