    Is God Holding Out On Us? — a word by Pastor Josh Whitney from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "Sometimes, we think God is holding out on us. In fact, that was one of the first lies told in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:4-5)."

    “I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” — Psalm 27:13-14

    While studying the book of Joshua this last month, something caught my attention. When the Israelites conquered Jericho, God told them to destroy everything and keep no plunder. But Achan disobeyed the command. Joshua (Chapter 7) says he kept some of the plunder (which included a bar of gold). We don’t know how heavy the bar was, but if it was similar to modern bars, we’re talking about a million dollars of gold. In due time, God judged Achan and his family (and all of Israel) for that disobedience.

    Astounded — a word by Pastor Steele Croswhite from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "I was astounded not just by what I was hearing but also by how Jesus had aligned this incredible encounter to begin with."

    There is nothing quite like being astounded by Jesus. Obviously, Jesus is always amazing, but sometimes, in our faith journey, He occasionally orchestrates something genuinely astounding.

    In July, The Rock Church Youth Group attended our annual DTC (Discipleship Training Camp) in Colorado. It was a tremendous few days where our young men and women played tons of games, sang songs, and laughed with friends. What is more, they learned the biblical roadmap for godly manhood and womanhood. For this particular DTC, the men and women were in two separate camps — about an hour away from each other.

  3. Waiting on the Lord

    Waiting on the Lord – a word by Pastor Tony D'Amico from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "Waiting on the Lord is an integral part of our Christian walk. It is a journey marked by trust, growth, and deepening faith."

    I often find myself reflecting on the idea of waiting on the Lord. Waiting can seem frustrating in our fast-paced world, where immediate results and quick fixes are highly prized. My personality is to get in and fix things as soon as possible. So, it’s not easy when I have to wait days, weeks, or months for something. I can start to get anxious very quickly.

  4. Selah

    Selah – a word by Pastor Steve McInroy from The Rock Church in Draper, UT. "I wonder, if perhaps we are in a Selah moment? After all, God is Sovereign and orchestrates everything that has ever happened,"

    Selah is a Hebrew word of unknown meaning — you’ll see it at the end of verses in the Psalms. While perhaps a musical direction, it’s traditionally interpreted as a blessing meaning “forever”. Whenever I encounter the word Selah in the Bible, I can’t help but think it has been carefully (and intentionally) placed there to catch my eye. Like the conductor of a great symphony, the Lord looks at me intently. He directs my very soul with His baton. 

    “Put them in fear, O Lord! Let the nations know that they are but men!” Selah — Psalm 9:20
