    No Counterfeits

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — which is no gospel at all.” Galatians 1:6 (NIV84)

My older sister has an innate ability to discern distress in my voice. Many years ago, our first-born son, Joseph, was admitted to the hospital for an unknown virus; he was only 10 weeks old! I called my sister to let her know. “What’s wrong?” came her instant and concerned response to my weak greeting. She had me. I burst into tears as the stress and torment of the last few hours overwhelmed me. My sister knew me too well — I couldn’t put up a front. Something was wrong and she discerned it immediately.

Better Than Peeps A Word by Pastor Bill Young of the Rock Churches in Utah

I don’t know about you, but in the midst of marshmallow peeps, chocolate marshmallows, jellybeans, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, Easter 2017 was a blessing to my life! God really reminded me of why Jesus had to die and why I can have tremendous hope because of the Resurrection. Between our six services this past weekend, we had over 1,300 people come through our doors! There were at least 18 people who indicated that they prayed to receive Jesus for their salvation! God was so kind to bring us dozens of new visitors and people who got to worship Jesus and hear a clear presentation of the Gospel. They were also blessed to be loved on by all of the wonderful saints at The Rock.

    “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful…” — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV84)

Like many of you, I read through the One Year Bible for my devotions each morning. I’ve done this for over 20 years. Sometimes, as I’m slogging through Leviticus, it is difficult to find a “meaningful” verse that applies to my every day life. Let’s face it, there are just so many ways you can apply verses dealing with offerings, skin infections, sacrifices, and atonement! Some days, I feel like I’m just going through the motions.

“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” — Luke 8:16 -17

I’d like to tell you a story. Although it took place a few years ago, it really encouraged my family’s faith and I believe that glorifies the Lord.

I’ve been recently teaching on one of my favorite subjects: forgiveness. I truly believe that many Christians do not really understand their forgiveness. This lack of understanding causes them to live like slaves to their sin! In John 8:32 Jesus says He came to set men free (“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”). Here’s some good news, Christian: ALL your sins are forgiven — you are FREE! We are free from sin. But, do we live like it? In order to live a life of freedom and joy, you need to understand that ALL YOUR SINS have been forgiven.

More this Christmas, A Word by Pastor Bill Young

“However, as it is written: ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him“ — but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.’” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NIV)

Christmas is so close, and I can assure you, there are a few excited boys at the Young home (yes, I am one of them)! Christmas is indeed a magical time. (more…)

“I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” (Ephesians 1:16-17 NIV)

I was recently on vacation with my family in Iowa (see picture of butter cow above), and was reminded about how thankful I am for your faithfulness and generosity in your giving to The Rock Church! God is using your gifts and sacrifices to make a real difference in the lives of many people and in the ministry of our church.

Prepared, a word from pastor Bill Young

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” — Exodus 23:20 (NIV)

I read this verse last week in my quiet time. What an exciting visual — God’s angels leading the way to a place Jesus has prepared for our church. I have been claiming this verse for a “home of our own” — our own Sandy/Draper facility — since 2006. (more…)

  9. Maximizing Your Winning Chances in Online Slots: Strategies, Trends, and Expert Tips for 2024

Online slots like slot 77 remain a favorite for gamblers worldwide, blending entertainment with the potential for big wins. However, increasing your chances of success requires more than just luck. This article delves into key strategies that can improve your winning odds, explores the latest trends in volatility and RTP (Return to Player) slots, and provides actionable tips on managing your bankroll and setting limits.
Key Strategies to Improve Your Winning Chances in Online Slots

    Bankroll Management
One of the most crucial strategies for any gambler is managing your bankroll effectively. Determine a fixed amount you are willing to spend on slots and stick to it. Divide your bankroll into smaller, manageable bets instead of going all in at once. This approach not only prolongs your gaming experience but also mitigates potential losses.

    Choosing the Right Games
Not all online slots are created equal. Understanding the features of different games can greatly influence your success. Focus on games with higher RTP percentages (above 96%) and lower volatility if you prefer consistent, smaller wins. On the other hand, high-volatility slots may offer larger payouts but come with higher risk. Choose games that align with your risk tolerance and play style.

    Leveraging Bonuses
Online casinos offer various bonuses, from welcome bonuses to free spins and loyalty rewards. These bonuses can extend your playing time and increase your chances of winning without additional financial investment. However, always read the terms and conditions carefully, as many bonuses come with wagering requirements that must be met before withdrawing any winnings.

Trends in 2024: The Rise of Volatility and RTP Slots

In 2024, two significant trends are shaping the online slots landscape: increased attention to slot volatility and the prominence of RTP slots.

Volatility in Focus: More players are becoming aware of slot volatility, which measures the risk level of a game. High-volatility slots, like “Dead or Alive II,” have gained popularity for their potential to deliver massive wins, though less frequently. On the other hand, low-volatility slots like “Starburst” are favored by those who enjoy frequent, smaller payouts. This trend is pushing developers to provide clear information on volatility levels to help players make informed choices.

RTP Slots on the Rise: Return to Player (RTP) percentages indicate how much of the wagered money a slot is programmed to return to players over time. Slots with high RTP percentages, such as “Blood Suckers” (98%), are drawing attention in 2024 as players become more informed about how these figures can impact their long-term success. The higher the RTP, the better the theoretical return, making RTP an essential factor when selecting a game.

Expert Tips for Online Slots Success

Set Limits and Stick to Them
Before you start spinning the reels, set limits on both your time and money. Decide on a session budget and avoid the temptation to chase losses. Know when to walk away, whether you’ve hit a big win or used up your allotted funds. This disciplined approach prevents emotional decision-making, which can lead to unnecessary losses.

    Understand Game Mechanics
Take the time to understand the mechanics of each slot game you play. From paylines to bonus features, knowing how the game works can improve your strategy. For example, some slots have multipliers or cascading reels that can increase your chances of hitting a big win. Familiarize yourself with these features to maximize your potential rewards.

    Know When to Cash Out
Knowing when to cash out is crucial. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and keep playing after a win, but setting a target and cashing out once you’ve reached it ensures you walk away with profit. Consider using the “hit-and-run” strategy: after a big win, leave the game and enjoy your success rather than risking your gains.

    Conclusion

Maximizing your chances of winning in online slots in 2024 involves more than just spinning the reels. By managing your bankroll, choosing the right games based on volatility and RTP, and taking advantage of bonuses, you can improve your odds. Stay informed about the latest trends, set limits, and always know when to walk away. With a strategic approach, online slots can be both an entertaining and potentially rewarding experience.

“All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:44-47)

I was struck as I prepared my message covering Acts 16:1-15 at the impact a young boy named Timothy has had on the world – yet we know almost nothing about him. We know that Timothy was saved as a direct result of Paul’s ministry during his first missionary journey, and that on Paul’s second journey, he decided to take this young protégé along with him – and the world has never been the same!
